History of the Ammunition Box AdditionDuring World War II, a caretaker at the farm needed more room for his growing family, so he did what he could by building an addition out of old ammunition boxes. At this time in our country, raw materials were very hard, if not impossible, to procure. Somehow, he obtained hundreds of empty ammo boxes, using them to increase his living space by approximately 450 square feet.
